My name is Steve Bayle. I’ve been mentoring at MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service for the past eight years. The MIT VMS team mentoring approach is unique in my experience and a large part of why I enjoy MIT VMS so much – the mentors are all experienced entrepreneurs and mentors and I learn a lot about how to be a good mentor from them. I also learn a great deal from the founders I have the privilege of mentoring.
I’ve also done mentoring for TechStars Boston, The Social Innovation Forum, The MIT Post-Doctoral Association and The MIT Sandbox.
This blog is a combination of posts about mentoring, as well as lessons learned about startups, of which I’ve done many, including four venture-backed startups, one angel-backed, and two self-financed. You can review my bio on LinkedIn.
You can view the categories of blog posts by clicking on Categories at the top right of the home page, or you can search for a particular topic by using the Search box. You can also just browse the posts on the home page, but be aware that many posts have been archived. You can view older posts using the Archive function and choosing which month you are interested in.
If you are interested in my philosophy of mentoring and how I mentor see the Mentoring Philosophy page.
